Volume Raw Data
This documentation explains the Volume Raw Data tab in a study.
1. Access Volume Raw Data Tab
-
Navigate to the Volume Raw Data tab in your Volume Study.
-
This tab displays raw traffic volume data collected during the study. It includes:
-
A graph showing traffic volume data visually.
-
A table showing the same volume data in a detailed, organized manner.
-
-
You can adjust the column order to change the data organization.
2. Select a Table Header
-
Click on any table header to expand the data grouped under that header.
-
When you expand a table header:
-
The graph above will automatically update to reflect the data from that header.
-
For example, clicking on a approach header (e.g., "North Approach") will expand groups to volume by vehicle for that approach. This will update the graph above.
-
-
Additional sub-headers may appear under the selected header, allowing further exploration of data details.
3. Understand Order of Data
-
You will see that the table headers that appear when you expand a table header follows the pattern of the types of data headers above the table.
-
The data within Volume Raw Data is sorted by the data headers going from left to right. You can move the data headers around to adjust to sorting of volume raw data.
4. Drag Vehicle Class Name
-
To customize your data view, drag the Vehicle Class Name header to the left of the Approach header in the table.
-
This action reconfigures the graph and table to focus on the selected vehicle class.
5. Volume Raw Data by Vehicle Class Name
After adjusting the table, the graph and table will orient around the Vehicle Class Name .
6. Select Vehicle Class Name
Select the Vehicle Class Name header in the table to drill down into data for a specific vehicle type.
7. Adjust Rows
-
By default, rows in the table represent time intervals for the study.
-
To reorganize rows:
-
Drag any header to the row header position (where Start Date is located).
-
The rows and graph will update accordingly, reflecting the new grouping.
-
-
In the example, Vehicle Class Name was dragged and as you can see, the rows changed to each of the vehicle class names. The bars in the graph changed to the vehicle class names as well.
8. Field Chooser
-
Open the Field Chooser to customize the data displayed in the table and graph.
-
In the Field Chooser, you can:
-
Select fields to display (e.g., Approach , Movement , Lane , Start Date ).
-
Rearrange Row Fields , Column Fields , and Data Fields to change the layout and sorting of data.
-
9. Adjusting Volume Row Data in Field Chooser
In the Field Chooser window:
-
Tick or untick fields under All Fields to include/exclude them in your table and graph.
-
Use the Row Fields section to set which data appears in rows.
-
Use the Column Fields section to configure data in columns.
-
Set Data Fields to adjust the numerical data displayed.
10. Export Graph
-
Click the Hamburger Menu (three horizontal lines) on the graph.
-
Select a file format (e.g., PNG , JPEG , PDF , SVG ) to save the graph.
11. Export Table
-
Click the Excel File button.
-
The data in the table will be downloaded as an Excel file.
