Introduction
This documentation goes over the Traveller Safety module.
1. Traveller Safety and Overview
The Traveler Safety module is designed to identify hot spots, collision patterns, and safety concerns within the road network.
This module includes four tabs :
-
Overview
-
Emphasis Area
-
Comparative
-
Heat Map
Overview Tab
The Overview tab provides:
-
A graph showing collision frequency over time.
-
A map highlighting the top 10 high-frequency locations .
-
Two data grids displaying details for:
-
The top 10 high-frequency intersections .
-
The top 10 high-frequency road segments .
-
2. Emphasis Area
The Emphasis Area tab focuses on specific categories of collisions.
What it shows:
-
A graph of collision frequencies grouped by different emphasis areas, such as:
-
Aggressive driving
-
Distracted driving
-
Vulnerable road users, etc.
-
This tab helps users analyze which areas require targeted safety interventions.
3. Comparative
The Comparative tab allows users to compare collision data across different time periods.
Key features:
-
Displays graphs showing collision frequencies in various emphasis areas before and after a selected date range.
-
Provides visual indicators to compare changes over time for categories like:
-
Total collisions
-
Aggressive driving
-
Distracted driving, etc.
-
This feature helps users evaluate the impact of safety measures or policy changes.
4. Heat Map
The Heat Map tab visualizes collision data geographically.
What it shows:
-
A heat map highlighting areas with high collision frequencies. Hotter colors indicate higher collision density.
-
Adjustable settings to filter data by:
-
Collision severity
-
Date range
-
Jurisdiction
-
This tool is ideal for identifying high-risk zones within a specific jurisdiction.
